About Ms. Zumwalt:

Ms. Zumwalt is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Human Biology.  This is her 12th year teaching.  Besides teaching her classes, she is also the teacher sponsor for HOSA-Future Health Professionals, a student-led organization on campus.  Her free time is mostly spent with her kids, who go to Doss and Kealing.

The Health Science Practicum is a weighted (honors), double-blocked (takes up two periods) class open to 12th grade students only.  This program gives students the opportunity to shadow health professionals around the city twice a week.  Admission to the program requires an application and interview.  Application packets are available outside Room 101 at the end of January each year.  Prerequisites include successful completion of Anatomy & Physiology and at least one other health science course.
