Anderson Dance Department Classes & Descriptions
This course was created to provide theater and choir students the opportunity to incorporate dance technique into an existing skillset, while satisfying the PE credit requirement. Students will learn the basic technique for jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet, modern, and social dance all centered around classic styles & performances found throughout musical theater. Beyond the actual execution of dance steps, students will learn technical vocabulary, Broadway dance history, and an appreciation of dance as an art form. Students will combine their knowledge of dance with basic aerobic exercise principals for regular cardiovascular activity in addition to skills learned in other classes such as choir and theater. All students perform in our Fall Dance Concert.
