 KUDOS:   Sophomore Kate Oliver and freshman Juliette Madere have been rock climbing on team ATX for several years.  Earlier this month they both qualified at Divisionals with a 6th place tie.   Divisionals includes competitors from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Arizona and Louisiana.    Both Kate and Juliette move on to Nationals in Oregon in a few weeks.   Rock climbing will be an Olympic sport this summer and we wish both of these young ladies good luck in their upcoming competitions!

FROM MS. SPENCER:  The deadline to apply to the Anderson International Baccalaureate program, as either an IB Diploma student, or for select IB courses "Certificate", is this Saturday, February 1st.  Apply by filling out the online application form:   Two teacher recommendation forms are required, and can be picked up at the IB Office in the library.   Questions?  Go talk to the IB Coordinator - Jill Spencer.  Inquirers, communicators, caring and open minded students are encouraged to apply!


We will have Saturday school this week on February 1st from 8-12. Please be on time and meet Mrs. Salas at the flag pole.  The deadline to clear Fall 2019 NCs is February 16th, 2020. Please see Mrs. Salas in the registrars’ office to get that completed.  We will have hours available in room 248 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 with Mrs. Salas.  You must sign up in the registrars’ office to reserve a spot to attend those sessions.


CAC Meets this afternoon, January 28th at 4:45 in room 130; please be on time.


Attention upperclassmen!  The annual Anderson course fair is on Wednesday, January 29th, and we are looking for responsible and mature upperclassmen to lead our visiting 8th graders on a tour of our campus.  If you are interested in being a tour guide, please fill out the form located outside of Mr. Lancaster's office, which is room 302 in the world languages hallway, and return it to Mr. Lancaster.


Anyone interested in trying out for the baseball team, listen up.  Coach Matthews will be holding the final MANDATORY tryout meetings Tuesday, January 28th after school at 4:35 in room 226. 


This Friday, January 31st we are going to have a Live @ Lunch concert in Portable D. We are looking for musicians to fill the bill and perform for their classmates. Any genre is welcome but must be school appropriate. Contact Mr. Bergdorf in Portable D (Guitar portable) by the end of this week.


The Anderson High School Library

 will be hosting Skate Night at Playland on Friday, January 31, from 6 - 11!  All proceeds will benefit the AHS Library!  Just say you're from Anderson and skate the night away.  Questions? See Avery Herbold or Ms. Counts!
