Hey Anderson!   It’s homecoming week.    Show your school spirit and dress up each day this week.   Here are the daily themes:   Wednesday- Decade/Wayback Wednesday; Thursday – Hawaiian/Tropical Thursday; Friday- Blue and Gold Trojan Pride

ACCOLADES:  Last weekend Anderson Speech and Debate competed at Pflugerville High School, with 30 students advancing to elimination rounds. Individual Highlights were as follows: 

Domestic Extemp-Callum Harralson 1st Place, Ananthi Jayasundera Finalist;  International Extemp-Ben Rogers 2nd Place; Novice Extemp-Molly Mangan 2nd Place, Natalie Benavides Finalist; Informative Speaking-Sara Valentine Finalist; Prose-Elizabeth Barton 1st Place; Dramatic Interpretation-Elizabeth Barton Finalist; POI- Elizabeth Barton Finalist; Varsity LD Debate-Willa Meissner Semi Finalist; Varsity Public Forum Debate- Seungjoh Cho & Zak Turner Semi Finalists; Callum Harralson & Ananthi Jayasundera-Quarter Finalists

TUESDAY:  The 2018 Austin-Koblenz Exchange Parent Meeting is tonight, Tu. Sep.19th from 6-7 pm in Frau Lesher's room, #313.  If you have any questions, please stop by Frau Lesher's room.

IF YOU RECEIVED A NHS INVITE, STOP BY ROOM 140 TO PICK UP YOUR STUDENT ACTIVITY FORM. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR APPLICATION, SO PLEASE COME BY TODAY! 

The senior PALS are collecting donations for hurricane Harvey victims today through September 29th. All donations can be collected by your homeroom teachers. The winning homeroom will receive Tiff’s Treats on behalf of the PALS. There are posters placed around school for further information.

                FROM MS. MASON:  Juniors and Seniors9/19/17   7:00pm-8:00pm in the Theater: Ask the experts!  A panel of college experts will be here to answer your questions about the college process.  Parents and students—this is for you!

 

WEDNESDAY: 

Tickets for the homecoming dance will be on sale starting on Wednesday (9/20) through Friday (9/22) in the cafeteria foyer.  Tickets will be $20.  They are also available for purchase on the following website: https://www.atxgive.org/anderson/homecoming.

 

THURSDAY:  SPIRIT STORE NEWS: This week the Spirit Store will be open for student lunch on Thursday and Friday plus we will have our tables set up at the Homecoming game versus Austin High on Friday night, September 22.  We have a great selection to choose from and accept all forms of payment.  See you soon and GO TROJANS!

 

FRIDAY:  Anderson Amigos applications are available in 336 and are due 9/22.  Plan to attend ONE of the mandatory training sessions in 336: Tuesday, 9/26 at 8:30 OR Wednesday, 9/27 at 4:40.

Volleyball plays Manor @ Manor:  9th & JV @ 5:30; Varsity @ 6:30   GO TROJANS!

 

SATURDAY:   Saturday School this Saturday, Sept. 23RD from 8:00am – 12:00pm

Homecoming Dance:  @ The Belmont 7pm – 11pm

The 2017-2018 girls’ lacrosse season will be starting Tuesday September 26th -- all skill levels are welcome! For more information visit the front desk or go to Ms. Hall’s fit session in room 114.
