PURPOSE: The Latin Club is designed for those interested in the ancient world and its influence on our modern world.  The Junior Classical League holds Area, State, and National Latin tournaments annually.  The Latin Club also travels to Roman sites in Europe every year.

The Anderson HS Latin Club is part of a nationwide organization of over 50,000 members called the Junior Classical League (njcl.org) whose mission is to promote appreciation for the language and culture of the Ancient Greeks and Romans and for their relevance today. Club members can compete at tournaments with other schools from across the area, state and the nation in a wide variety of Latin and Greek themed competitions ranging from Mythology and Latin to Art and Olympic sport. Our local club also holds additional events which include an annual gladiatorial tournament and ten day field trip to Italy every other year. Please see our local chapter’s website for more information: http://andersonlatin.weebly.com/jcl-latin-club.html
