  • Winter Formal is THIS Saturday night, December 11th @ Anderson from 8-11:00pm in the Gym. Tickets will be sold for $15 in the cafeteria during lunch this week or $20 at the door. Cash only! 
  • Track Announcement
    There will be a track & field meeting for all boys & girls who are interested in running track for the 2022 season.  The meeting will be on Wednesday, December 8th immediately after school in the weight room.
    Coaches will be handing our student’s information forms, physical packets, and reviewing track information when practice begins in January.  All students must have a completed physical on file & all paperwork completed before they will be allowed to practice. 
    We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Please contact Coach Sanford, Coach Thompson, or Coach Navarro if you have any questions!

    Come check out how fun Water Polo is!! Forming both Men’s & Women’s teams for Spring 2022 and new players are needed!
    Did you ever swim on a summer league swim team? Do you like team ball sports? Are you looking for a sport or is your primary sport off-season February – May?  Did you watch some water polo during the Olympics & think how fun it seemed? Did you know water polo will be a UIL sport in Texas Fall 2022?
    Come to this informational meeting about water polo and be a part of the excitement!

  • STAAR End of Course Testing Opportunity
    Students who need to make-up or retake the STAAR End of Course test/s are registered to test.
    The Test dates are:
    English 1 – December 7
    Algebra 1 and Biology – December 8
    English II and US History – December 9
    Make up for all tests – December 10
         The English STAAR EOC is a five-hour test and all other tests are four hours.  Students will be given a break to eat lunch.  Students will be taking their break and eating lunch in the testing room.
         Students should bring their Chromebook, charger, water bottle, and lunch.  If students do not bring lunch, we will order lunch from the cafeteria.

  • Congratulations to Lady Trojans who began district play on the road at Crockett HS with a win 57-33Senior, Kristiana Davis led the team with 17 points & 5 steals.
    Way to go ladies!!

  • Varsity Boys Golf won it’s 5th tournament of the year on Sunday, at the Westwood Invitational. Keaton Vo tied for 1st place with a 69, Trent Mierl claimed 2nd place with a 72, Max Weisser placed 3rd with 73 and Lucas Chan shot 74 for 4th place.  Great way to end the fall season! Looking forward to the Spring and on to State!

Old News Still Pertinent/deadlines approaching:     

  • Advanced Placement Announcement:
    The College Board deadline to place the order for the 2022 AP exams was November 15, 2021.   
    • Thank you to those who made the payments and reached out if they had concerns.   
    • If a payment was not made by November 15, 2021, then the AP exam was canceled   
    • Students can still register for AP exams, but the College Board $40 late fee begins November 16, 2021.  
      The final registration and payment deadline is January 31, 2022.   
      There are two steps to registering for AP exams.  Both must be completed by the deadline.   
    • Students and Parents should log into the Total Registration  https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/440294 and   
      College Board  https://myap.collegeboard.org/loginto be sure all registrations and payments match.   
    • Students may cancel an exam up until January 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm.  All cancellations after November 15, 2021 incur a $40 College Board cancellation fee per exam.  There are no refunds after January 31, 2022.  To cancel an exam, log in to Total Registration: https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/440294  |

  • Trojan Varsity Boys Wrestling team beat Crockett last night in a dual meet! The score was 54-12. Sterling Smith, Greg Martin, Will Haerl, Aidan Alvarado, and Nhi Quan all won their matches by pin.  Trojan wrestling teams will be competing again this weekend in Georgetown, JV Boys and Varsity Girls will compete tomorrow (Friday) and Varsity Boys will compete on Saturday.

The score was 54-12. Sterling Smith, Greg Martin, Will Haerl, Aidan Alvarado, and Nhi Quan all won their matches by pin.  Trojan wrestling teams will be competing again this weekend in Georgetown, JV Boys and Varsity Girls will compete tomorrow (Friday) and Varsity Boys will compete on Saturday.

    The College Board deadline to place the order for the 2022 AP exams was November 15, 2021.  
    • Thank you to those who made the payments and reached out if they had concerns.  
    • If a payment was not made by November 15, 2021, then the AP exam was canceled  
    • Students can still register for AP exams, but the College Board $40 late fee begins November 16, 2021.  
      The final registration and payment deadline is January 31, 2022.   
      There are two steps to registering for AP exams.  Both must be completed by the deadline.

  • The Anderson Guitar department invites you to their annual Winter Concert this Thursday, December 2 @ 7p in the Theater.
    This is a free concert showcasing all the guitar classes. Join us!  
  • Track Announcement
    There will be a track & field meeting for all boys & girls who are interested in running track for the 2022 season.  The meeting will be on Wednesday, December 8th immediately after school in the weight room.
    Coaches will be handing our student’s information forms, physical packets, and reviewing track information when practice begins in January.  All students must have a completed physical on file & all paperwork completed before they will be allowed to practice.

  • STAAR End of Course Testing Opportunity
    Students who need to make-up or retake the STAAR End of Course test/s are registered to test.
    The Test dates are:
    English 1 – December 7
    Algebra 1 and Biology – December 8
    English II and US History – December 9
    Make up for all tests – December 10
         The English STAAR EOC is a five-hour test and all other tests are four hours.  Students will be given a break to eat lunch.  Students will be taking their break and eating lunch in the testing room.
         Students should bring their Chromebook, charger, water bottle, and lunch.  If students do not bring lunch, we will order lunch from the cafeteria.

  • Anderson Men’s Basketball is hosting The Anderson Classic, presented by Howry, Breen & Herman, LLP, Trial Attorneys. The tournament is this upcoming weekend December 2-4, Thursday – Saturday. Come join us at the Madhouse on Mesa for some great basketball!!  On Thursday and Friday, games run all day with the first game at 8:30am and the last game starting at 8:30pm.
         The tournament expands to 12 teams from Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas.  We have 3 local teams playing: Anderson HS, Westlake HS and St Stephens and 9 other teams: Rockwall, Goose Creek, Cy Falls, Kingwood, Dulles, Fort Bend Travis, Holmes, Central Catholic and Medina Valley.
         The tournament will host 4 players from the Texas Top 100 2022 list: Cam Crockett from FB Travis HS, Sam Bradford from Goose Creek HS, Jesiah McWright from Cy Falls HS and our very own Jack Francis from Anderson HS! Come to the Madhouse on Mesa starting this Thursday to watch these players in action.

  • Advanced Placement Announcement:
    The College Board deadline to place the order for the 2022 AP exams was November 15, 2021.
    • Thank you to those who made the payments and reached out if they had concerns.
    • If a payment was not made by November 15, 2021, then the AP exam was canceled
    • Students can still register for AP exams, but the College Board $40 late fee begins November 16, 2021. The final registration and payment deadline is January 31, 2022

There are two steps to registering for AP exams.  Both must be completed by the deadline.

    Congratulations to Liam Donohoe for making the 5-A All-Region team by the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas.
    Congratulations to our Senior cross-country runners who earned Academic All-State recognition this season from the Cross-Country Coaches Association of Texas. They are Sydney Fulton, Jenna Hamm, Stephen Campos, Bryden Craig, Andrew Faulkner, Nicolas Greiner-Guzman, and Matthew Scheberle.

    Lastly, 28 varsity boys and girls varsity Cross country runners earned Academic All-district recognition this season!

  • GOLF NEWS: The AHS Girls Varsity Golf team won the State Preview 2-day tournament this weekend in Georgetown. The top 14 teams in 5A in Texas were invited to compete & our Lady Trojans won by 5 shots, over defending State Champ Alamo Heights!! Farah O’Keefe shot 72-70 to win 1st place MedalistCaroline Dasch 78-72 & Darrelyn Webster 77-76 were named to the All-Tourney team for their top 10 finish.  Sloan Panter & Karime Nichos were also on the winning squad.  Fantastic showing!! Very proud of you!!
  • Cross Country News: Congratulations to Liam Donohoe and Jaz Villareal for their fine showing at the UIL 5-A State Cross Country Meet. Liam Donohoe made his second appearance at the State Meet with a 48th place finish with a time of 16 minutes and 27 seconds.  Jaz Villareal finished in 71st place overall against 152 girls. She set a PR with a time of 19 minutes and 39 seconds.
    Congratulations to both runners for a fine showing at the State XC Meet and an excellent finish to their senior year in Cross Country! 
  • Band News: On Saturday the Anderson Trojan Band competed in it’s last contest of the year, the US Bands Remo (pronounced “Ree-mo”) Invitations. They had two outstanding performances and earned 4th place overall!! Congratulations on a wonderful season, Trojan Band. Your directors are so proud of you!! And to the Students who had to deal with our parking lot barricades in the mornings, thank you for your flexibility all season!!
  • Please congratulate Maryam Zoweil on qualifying for the International German Olympics and winning an all-expense paid trip to Chicago in December to compete against other American students studying German!
  • The Anderson Varsity Boys Golf team won their 4th tourney in a row Tuesday at the Don Beaver Invitational at Lions Municipal Golf Course.  Keaton Vo – 69, Ethan Parker – 70, Lucas Chan – 71, Tranton Mierl – 73, Max Weisser – 75, were the winning team and finished 1st thru 5th as low individuals as well! Jun Lee shot a personal best of 83 to lead the JV boys team to a 6th place finish, out of 14 teams.
    The JV Girls placed 4th at the Joy Riley Invitational on Thursday also at Lions Municipal.  Ava Carter, Soraya Hajibashi & Lauren Thompson were low scorers for Anderson.  Congratulations!

KUDOS!! 

  • GOLF NEWS: The AHS Girls Varsity Golf team won the State Preview 2-day tournament this weekend in Georgetown. The top 14 teams in 5A in Texas were invited to compete & our Lady Trojans won by 5 shots, over defending State Champ Alamo Heights!! Farah O’Keefe shot 72-70 to win 1st place MedalistCaroline Dasch 78-72 & Darrelyn Webster 77-76 were named to the All-Tourney team for their top 10 finish.  Sloan Panter & Karime Nichos were also on the winning squad.  Fantastic showing!! Very proud of you!!

  • Cross Country News: Congratulations to Liam Donohoe and Jaz Villareal for their fine showing at the UIL 5-A State Cross Country Meet. Liam Donohoe made his second appearance at the State Meet with a 48th place finish with a time of 16 minutes and 27 seconds.  Jaz Villareal finished in 71st place overall against 152 girls. She set a PR with a time of 19 minutes and 39 seconds.
    Congratulations to both runners for a fine showing at the State XC Meet and an excellent finish to their senior year in Cross Country!
     

  • Band News: On Saturday the Anderson Trojan Band competed in it’s last contest of the year, the US Bands Remo (pronounced “Ree-mo”) Invitations. They had two outstanding performances and earned 4th place overall !! Congratulations on a wonderful season, Trojan Band. Your directors are so proud of you!! And to the Students who had to deal with our parking lot barricades in the mornings, thank you for your flexibility all season!!

  • Please congratulate Maryam Zoweil on qualifying for the International German Olympics and winning an all-expense paid trip to Chicago in December to compete against other American students studying German!
  • The Anderson Varsity Boys Golf team won their 4th tourney in a row Tuesday at the Don Beaver Invitational at Lions Municipal Golf Course.  Keaton Vo – 69, Ethan Parker – 70, Lucas Chan – 71, Tranton Mierl – 73, Max Weisser – 75, were the winning team and finished 1st thru 5th as low individuals as well! Jun Lee shot a personal best of 83 to lead the JV boys team to a 6th place finish, out of 14 teams.
    The JV Girls placed 4th at the Joy Riley Invitational on Thursday also at Lions Municipal.  Ava Carter, Soraya Hajibashi & Lauren Thompson were low scorers for Anderson.  Congratulations!

  • AHS Choir Presents “Songs of the Cinema” Nov 12th & 13th @ 7pm
    Come enjoy our talented Trojan Choir as they perform “Songs of the Cinema” in this super fun Follies show on campus!
    WHEN: Friday November 12 & Saturday November 13th
    WHERE: Anderson Theater @ 7pm
    Follies is the only concert where we sell tickets, because it’s that good!
    Ticket sales begin at 6:20p in the theater foyer before the show. Ticket Info: $6 adults, $3 students, teachers FREE with ID

  • Boys Basketball Tryouts!
    Boys basketball will be conducting tryouts for all non-varsity football players on Saturday, November 6th at 8am. Monday November 8th at 7am and Tuesday November 9th at 7 am.  Any varsity football players need to speak with Coach Pittsford directly.
    In order to try out you must have a physical on file wand have all the rank one forms completed online.

  • Did you dress up for Halloween?? Yearbook needs your photos!!  Fill in this form for a chance to be in the yearbook.  
  • ATTENTION SENIORS!! Applications for Top Trojan, formerly known as Mr. Trojan, are now open!  This is an annual AHS tradition that helps support the costs of Senior Prom.  In order to participate, you must submit an application and a $14 application fee no later than November 9th.  There is a mandatory information session during FIT on Tuesday, November 9th.   • MISSED Photo RETAKES for Underclassmen because the line was too long??
    The photo company is coming again ThursdayNovember 11th during lunch. If you missed picture day or need to retake your photo, head to the library during lunch to take your photo. They will have two photographers and a helper this time to ensure it goes smoothly! 
  • The Spirit Store is for in-person sales on Wednesday, November 10th.

  • Saturday School is up and going strong… if you need to make up hours for NC’s for the Fall or NC’s on your transcript.. or have VOE hours to recover, please join us on the dates below… you don not have to sign up to attend. However, if you wan to know ahead of time if you have any hours to recover, please see Mrs. Salas in the Registrar’s office on the 2nd floor!!
