  • Anderson Safety Update
Now that we’ve been back at school for over one semester, your students have probably noticed that we’ve been doing more safety drills 1-2 times per month, and we have five types of safety drills that we practice. For the next few weeks, we will be highlighting the different types of safety drills in this Safety Update.
Evacuation Drill: This is the most common drill that we practice. This drill is used to simulate what would happen if we needed to evacuate the building because of a fire or a bomb threat. When we need to evacuate, the teachers escort their students out of the building quickly and orderly. Students leave their belongings, teachers lock the doors, and students follow the teacher’s instructions for evacuation. If students are on the 2nd or 3rd floor, the teacher will tell them which stairwell to use to avoid congestion.  The evacuation routes are posted in each classroom for the teacher and students to see. When they have cleared the building, the students stay with their teacher until given the all-clear to return inside.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding campus safety, please email Mr. Shackelford at [email protected]

Announcements for Thursday 01.27.22

ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 27, 2022

(New announcements are in Italics)

Reminder:

Staff & Students: Please remember that AISD requires proper mask wearing throughout the school day.  Masks may be removed when eating or drinking, but should be replaced as soon as possible in an effort to promote health and safety.
Thank you for your attention and compliance to the mask policy in AISD.

ATTENTION Anderson Community Please help us be good stewards of our resources:

  • Masks
We provide masks to anyone who needs a mask, but please do your part to bring and wear your own mask from home. Our supplies are becoming limited..  The masks that were sent to us most recently are KN95 masks, these are *not single use, throw in the trash “because you want a new one after lunch” type masks…  please find and use the masks you like from home as much as possible.

  • Water Bottles….
This year, because our water fountains are taped closed for individual drinking, we have been providing water bottles. However, we still have open access to the ELEVEN water bottle refilling stations scattered throughout campusYou may have heard of the “plastic islands” that are scattered throughout our planet’s oceans that are comprised in no small part, of plastic bottles, which is wreaking havoc with our environment.  Please help us be good stewards and pack a refillable water bottle in your backpack each day so we can do our part to take care of our planet!
