The Anderson PTSA is annually comprised of over 1500 parents, teachers, administrators, and students. In recent years, it has been recognized by the Texas PTA for its successful membership efforts and by the Austin Council of PTAs for its parent education programming. Austin Partners in Education named Anderson PTSA PTA of the Year for Secondary Schools in 2007-08 and it has been an AISD finalist in all years since.
The PTSA acts as conduit between the school administration and families. We provide communication tools such as the website, the school directory, the Trojan Times, a weekly email bulletin, and the Trojan News, a newsletter mailed to homes three times a year. Our PTSA meetings, held the second Tuesday of every month, allow dialogue between Principal Donna Houser and those in attendance to discuss the latest happenings around campus.

Besides communication, specific responsibilities of the Anderson PTSA include coordinating volunteers for the Counselors' Office, Attendance Office, Library, and Registrar's Office; overseeing Trojan Spirit Fest, Project Graduation, Trojan Charge, and the Baccalaureate Ceremony; selling required English novels and grocery gift cards; awarding scholarships for graduating seniors; representing parents on the Campus Advisory Council and the Austin Council of PTAs; landscaping the campus; administering the Trojan Excellence Fund to provide needed resources to classrooms; and hosting staff appreciation events. The PTSA also provides parent education resources and programs to all families in the Anderson community and sponsors various RAD (Resisting Alcohol & Drugs) events for students.
We're an active PTSA with many opportunities for your involvement! Please don't believe your child when he orshe says that you're no longer needed at the school. He or she needs you and so do we!

Anderson High School PTSA meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month in room 130. Executive session begins at 6:00 pm and the general meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Meeting dates are scheduled for Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9, Jan. 11, Feb. 8, Mar. 8, Apr. 12, May 10. Please see the Calendar to confirm meeting dates. The executive board meets at 6:30 p.m. The general membership meeting begins at 7 p.m. All meetings are held in the school library. All are welcome to attend. Only members may vote. Please join!
