MEETING TIME AND PLACE: TBD

PURPOSE: To promote enthusiasm for Classical Greek, Latin and Ancient Culture and to appreciate the influence these have on our own modern world.   We compete in Area, State and National Latin competitions.  We also travel to Greece and Italy.

The Anderson HS Latin Club is part of a nationwide organization of over 50,000 members called the Junior Classical League (njcl.org) whose mission is to promote appreciation for the language and culture of the Ancient Greeks and Romans and for their relevance today. Club members can compete at tournaments with other schools from across the area, state and the nation in a wide variety of Latin and Greek themed competitions ranging from Mythology and Latin to Art and Olympic sport. Our local club also holds additional events which include an annual gladiatorial tournament and ten day field trip to Italy every other year. Please see our local chapter’s website for more information: http://andersonlatin.weebly.com/jcl-latin-club.html
